Besnik has been working with his playmat--it has patches for grabbing, hanging parrots, giraffes, elephants, and monkeys for grabbing, and baby-activated music. If he pushes on a flower, it starts playing some sort of faux-Mozart, cheap synthesizer tune. For some reason the fourth scale degree is almost a half step sharp--it sounds very strange, but not in a good way. Here is a picture of the Boy working on his mat; he is practicing holding his head up and kicking his legs (pre-crawling? some days he gets a good push/drag going and moves a few feet).

And below is a picture of Molly, caught unawares... The Dog is, naturally, terrified of cameras. We aren't sure if she is acting strangely because there is a baby in the house, or because the camera is out so much more. My new SLR doesn't make any electronic beeps, which is good (when she hears camera beeps she takes off running), and she can't seem to hear the shutter. If she sees it, though, Molly really moves and usually ends up hiding in the bathroom until the camera is away and she has been reassured/"treated." I think that Mother was taking a series of photos of Baby and Molly--thinking that treats were being handed out--came running in as the picture was taken. Note the tail position.

I think you captioned this wrong. it's clear from molly's expression and stance that she is protecting the baby human. You know how fiercely loyal molly is. She is braving her own camera fears in order to make sure you don't steal the innocent soul of her precious charge. right?
yes, yes... I would say that Annie has made an accurate observation there. Molly is definitely interested in protecting Besnik -- we will see how she reacts when he starts eating solids :) Perhaps her "precious charge" will become a tasty food dish :)
