Baby's Day at the Museum
We just got home from a trip into Queens--a long day! We dropped Aunt Sarah off at the Airport, then went in to the PS1 contemporary art space. It seemed like a place both Humans and Babies could enjoy... Besnik had an extremely good time! Wide-eyed, looking around the whole time. He got a little cranky during the NeoHooDoo rooms (which weren't all that neat, except for a neat kayak).
He was very impressed with a few video installations, especially the one with extremely loud dance music in a small dark room (Mom tried to cover his ears, but he shook his head loose).
We also liked Leandro Erlich's "Swimming Pool"--lots of wavy blue colors.
The revolving ceiling mirror room was fun today--other little people were in there taking pictures, so we stopped for a quick snack and some photos ourselves. (Feel free to insert your own joke about breastfeeding in a gymnasium-sized room with a huge mirror on the ceiling.)
Furtive display devices create glimpses into idiosyncratic worlds inhabited by poised animals, oddly disjoined from the overall décor to create awkward sites for oyeuristic activity.
All in all, a very successful day. There was lots of squawking on the ride home (and we made it back to the car seven minutes after the meter expired to find a ticket...if someone hadn't needed a quick bathroom diaper change, then someone would have and extra $35 worth of presents coming his way next week...). Here is a picture of Besnik after a harrowing 50 miles in his car seat:

most beautiful child! what a doll! is he the greatest baby there ever was? there is no doubt in my mind that he is. could any future child ever possess qualities more extraordinary than are bursting forth from this charming infant? no, not in terms of beauty, grace, intelligence, and cunning.
only one baby in the history of makind has been even close, Teta Annie, and that child was you yourself...
