baking a cake
No pictures tonight -- our SD card is currently located in LA. BUT, I really wanted to share this tale! Besnik has these circular, wooden stacking blocks. They have been sitting in his room for months without getting much play-time. Yesterday, Besnik came running into the kitchen singing "happy birthday!" and holding the blocks. It does, in fact, look like a 4 layered cake.
Today, he came up to me again -- singing "happy birthday on you! happy birthday on you! mama!". I blew the "candles" out and asked for a piece to eat. (Usually, he would give me one layer and then take one for himself.) However, this time, he paused for a long time. He looked at the cake, then at me, then back at the cake. Then he said "not cake mama! not piece!" and he looked truly upset that there just wasn't a piece for Mama... especially given that it was Mama's cake!
Mama: Can I have this piece?
Besnik: No! Meees! (mine)
Mama: What about this one?
Besnik: unkeeees! (unkie richard's)
Mama: and this one?
Besnik: gam gam!
Mama: oh! what about this last one?
Besnik: ah! Mamas!
hahahaha. He was honestly so happy and relieved that there was a piece left over for me. I have no idea why he all of a sudden decided that Unkie and Gam needed to have pieces, but there was no getting around this fact :)
