A Machinist?

We are getting ready to go out to Baby's First Superbowl Party later tonight! He is in high spirits, and has been taking extra naps in preparation.

He's been in a very good mood all day long--spent the morning talking with Eva and Bori, then started working with some of his toys.

But Besnik has also been keeping Father from working on a paper... His priorities seem to be dancing, smiling, being held and rocked, kissing, and looking at the birds. (They do not include taking notes on 1960s Albanian sources or making good translations of song texts.) Here is is dancing with Momma...

Oh well. We did take a few minutes after lunch to dance to some of the music Father is working on... Besnik particularly liked the following song; Dad held him while he danced with Mom, which he thought was hilarious.

Besnik is getting quite an education in socialist-era Albanian popular songs. If there was still a National Song Contest for Children in Albania, he'd be very competitive some day. We are working on learning this David Tukiqi song from 1983, performed by a very young Aurela Gace, "Do te behem makiniste" (Someday I'll be a Machinist).
