We're not sure if the rumors of a new Olympic Ball Search event are true, but Besnik has really dedicated himself these last few days to placing himself among the nation's most competitive in the field. The premise of this unique sport, as I'm sure you have all heard about on SportsCenter, is to search through plastic bowl-shaped pieces for a small white ball with a baby face on it that makes jingle noises when moved. There is then a two-pronged goal: first the competitor must locate the ball, which sometimes consists of moving many plastic bowls around (see figure 1 below).

Then, he must grasp the ball in one hand and pass it to the other without dropping it (see figure 2 below.)

There is a great deal of room for set-backs -- the ball could become stuck under a plastic bowl you forget to lift up, the ball could be thrown out of the playing field(or out of your field of vision entirely), the ball could get stuck under your leg, or the hand-off could be flubbed. Besnik is really working to prove himself in the sport. Yes, it has been hard work and, yes, he has snapped at his coach multiple times (mostly when she too deliberately moves the ball to a more easily accessible spot), but it will be worth it in the end. Life is not easy for an Olympian! See figure 3 for Besnik stretching after a long day of exercise.
